As freedom is being sliced away little by little I find myself in a time in life where I want to be away from the populous.I want seclusion when I choose it,in a place,a land where I can feel free from inner City strife that prevails.Kind of looking for my own dimension on the Land I Dwell.
I have been following this Nevada/Utah issue since I started looking at Montello as a place to settle. I was also reading up on the disputes between ranchers and BLM's use of wildlife water guzzlers. Although I'm a native Floridian I understand very well the issues facing many places like Nevada when it comes to water. Many don't realize that the major problem facing the world (not just the western US) today is lack of clean drinking water. Seems like the Canadians own it all :)) Another item of interest to me with respect to Montello is the Ruby Pipeline http://www.rubypipeline.com/ It appears that it could affect many property owners in the Montello area as well.
Hello Richard, You are right, this water deal is kind of scary when it comes right down to it. Once Vegas has the Snake Valley area water supply nothing will stop them from going anywhere else. And yes the ruby pipe line is 670 mile gas line from California to Wyoming, and it looks like it is just a little north of Montello. And it's suppose to start construction as soon as this May.The Ruby pipeline will have an initial capacity of between 1.3 billion cubic feet per day and 1.5 depending on the final level of customer commitments. As proposed. It's a 42" pipe and I'm looking to as of yet if it is going to be all underground. And I would imagine it would be.
